OK don’t get too excited.
Apparently in South America they refer to it as “Natures or Peruvian Viagra” for its libido enhancing properties and they also say it’s an aphrodisiac.
What is it?
A nutrient dense food that contains vitamins, dietary fibre, plant sterols, minerals, essential fatty acids, and essential amino acids.
It looks like a weird potato with a root.
It’s a plant that grown in central Peru in the Andes Mountains and has been cultivated as a vegetable crop for at least 3000 years.
Maca has an odor similar to butterscotch and it’s a distant relative of radishes and turnips.
Apparently the Spaniards used it as a form of currency when Peru was a Spanish colony. People could actually pay their taxes with it.
Some of its uses are:
- promote endurance, stamina and strength.
- energize the central nervous system.
- combat stress and fatigue.
Who couldn’t use some of that?
There are so many supplements these days and you never know which one to take, when, how much or how to take it in. I like to keep things simple so I just get mine all in one bag right here and it tastes great: http://darrenletourneau.com/supplements/shakeology/what-is-shakeology/
