5 Ways to Increase Belief in Yourself

It doesn’t matter who you are. Everyone needs to have belief in themselves to succeed.

“Beliefs are the compass and maps that guide us toward our goals and give us the surety to know we’ll get there.” – Anthony Robbins

Belief can be the most powerful force for creating good or bad in our lives.

You’ve probably heard this quote before. [I see it everywhere]

if you think you can or you think you can't.

“If you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right” – Henry Ford

When you believe something to be true your body goes into the state of it being true.

So if you are believing things that aren’t true like “I can’t do this workout”, “I can’t lose 30 lbs”, “I’ll never reach my goals”…

Then this is what your mind and body will set up to make true.

 

An example of the power of belief is the placebo effect.

People are given a pill and told it will help them overcome their problem.

Others are give an pill and told it may help them out.

They both end up being given the same empty pill that should do nothing.

The group that were told it would work… it worked for 70% of them.

The group that were told it may help… only 25% got the same result.

That just goes to show you how much our minds play a part in what we achieve in our lives.

So it all comes down to what your beliefs are… they will play a huge part in the final outcome.

How do you increase your belief in yourself?

It comes easier for some people while others constantly struggle with it.

No matter who you are it should be a regular part of your daily routine to do things that will help you increase your belief in yourself.

Here are the 5 ways to increase your belief:

Environment – The environment that you are in plays a big part. They say that you’ll become like the 5 people you spend the most time. This tends to happen for the amount of money you make, likes and dislikes you have, your health and fitness… and many more things in your life.

Events – Everyone has events in their life that they don’t forget. These may have shaped the beliefs of whether we can do it or not.

Knowledge – There are many things that we have read, been taught, seen in a movie or seen others do. The good news is that we can seek out new information that will shape our beliefs. A good way to do this is find others that were in a similar situation and how they have overcome that situation to be successful.

Past Results – Not everyone has past results. Looking back at how you were successful before. If you can do it the first time you should be able to repeat that process again. Once you get a few good workouts in or succeed at eating healthy for the day you’ll be able to look back at how you were successful and repeat what you did.

The Future – Another great way to increase your belief is to think of how you want things to be in the future. Create your world the way you want it to be and take the time to imagine it like that every day. Step into that vision of your big goal, feel what it’s like to be at your ideal weight, how you move around, how people look at you, how much energy you now have, what others are saying about you, how you are inspiring others to live healthier. Maybe you are picturing yourself winning the Beachbody Challenge. Get really excited about it!

We can change our beliefs to work for us rather than work against us.

Keep working on your beliefs each day be cause they are what is going to push you on those days that you don’t feel like it or are having a hard time getting motivated.
