Did you see the post on the top workout trends of the year?
I was just reading about the workouts most searched on Google this year.
I’m pretty pumped that I’ve done most of these workouts.
The top 10 searched on Google were Insanity, Focus T25, PiYo, 7 Minute workout, P90X, Kettleball workout, Tabata Workout, Body Beast, Burpee Workout and 5 x 5 Workout.
With the exception of the 5 x 5 all of these can be done at home.
Here’s my honest opinion of these workouts:
Insanity –Intense, long, great workout. Too much for me. I need a modifier. I prefer the shorter Insanity Max 30.
Focus T25 – Great cardio and lead in workout for more intense workouts. Finished it and got great results.
PiYo – I completed 1 month. My wife loved it. Great for flexibility with a bit of cardio. I need it but just couldn’t do it for another month. Better for me to just add couple of these in a week.
7 Minute Workout – Body weight workouts are awesome. 7 Minutes is a bit short. Ok for days when you’re short on time but need longer for results.
P90X – Tried it before and didn’t last more than a couple weeks. Just too long. I like P90X3 better. Only 30 minutes so it was easier to fit in.
Kettleball – It’s actually kettlebell. I have one and did some of the exercises. If you have no clue how to do it it’s hard to tell if you are doing it right. One wrong move and you could injure yourself.
Tabata Workout – Tabata is great. 4 minutes of 20 seconds on 10 seconds off. You’ll need more than just 4 minutes for a total workout. People get the impression that they can do 4 minutes and that’s it. There are 2 days of tabata circuits in max 30.
Body Beast – Completed. Wish I had this when it was 17. Learned a lot about building muscle. Great workout but my goal isn’t to build size anymore.
Burpee Workout – Burpees are intense. I’ve seen several versions in Insanity Max 30 program and I’m always dreading that part of the workout.
5X5 Workout – Heavy weights, 5 sets of 5 exercises. If I remember correctly there may have been something like this is the Body Beast program. Just another way to add some muscle.
I think you’ll see many of these next year too.

Since people seem to want 30 min or less.
With a simple nutrition plan.
And that’s what they have.
