Too much of everything gets you nowhere

I know it may seem like I have everything figured out now but that wasn’t always the case.

Several years ago I wanted to get back in shape. So I decided to join the gym and go every day.

Isn’t that what everyone does?

I would ride my bike there and workout for about 2 hrs. I did some resistance training with weights and cardio on the machines while watching TV.

I kind of wondered why I wasn’t getting anywhere and always injuring myself.

Working out so much, not watching my diet and not giving myself time to rest and recover was resulting in no results and injuries.

Other people do this too.

I had someone ask for some advice about getting in shape. She is a mother that has a hard time with staying on top of healthy eating yet finds time to workout out 2-4 hrs a day. This includes Insanity, T25, P90X, the gym and cardio machines…. And then she goes on about adding more workouts into her routine.

Which adds up to at least 14 hrs a week.

Unless you are training for some competition.. STOP!

80% of your results are going to be from nutrition/diet.

20% from working out.

Excess fat comes from overeating and eating the wrong foods not from the lack of working out.

Blending everything together properly is the key.

Focus on eating the right amount, working out 3-7 hrs total per week over a span of 4-7 days.

Have a good mix of resistance training, cardio, stretching/yoga for recovery.

Or you can try blending all those workouts into one with PiYo
