I know you’re thinking… WHAT?
No I’m not doing a dog food diet.
I was just reading about “The Alpo Diet” that a few ladies did.
I read about it in Anthony Robbins’ book.
These two ladies came up with a strategy for sticking to their diet.
It involved a can of Alpo dog food.
After committing to their diets several times and quitting each time they had to find another solution to keep themselves accountable.
They needed something painful enough as the consequence of not sticking to their diet.
So they decided they would have to eat a can of Alpo dog food if they cheated.
They told everyone and kept their can in plain view at all times.
When they felt like they wanted to cheat they would pick up the can and read the label.
This was enough to make them stick to it.
If you are looking for a solution to sticking to your diet I wouldn’t go this far.
Perhaps there are some healthy foods that you just can’t stand.
Or something else that will bring you enough pain that you’ll have no choice but to stick to it.
Like doing something embarrassing.
Find that accountability partner and make each other stick to it.
