My P90X3 Transformation Vlog Week 8

Recovery week this last week of Block 2. Made a couple substitutions to the schedule due to shoulder injury. Did Pilates X and Dynamix twice each. Pilates X is probably the most underrated workouts of this program. In my opinion, it should be each week. Tony does say you can add it in anywhere if you want to do more.

P90X3 Transformation Day 50

P90X3 Day 50 Eccentric Lower today. I was also reading about the 3 white poisons from Brian Tracey’s No Excuses.

He talks about Sugar, Salt and White flour as being the 3 white poisons we are taking in each day. It’s a good idea to limit or substitute these foods with healthier foods like fruits, vegetables or whole wheat products instead.

Sugars can be found in pastries, cakes, added to coffee, soft drinks and canned fruits. Sometimes we don’t even realize how much we are taking in because all these little bits really add up.

Salt – Some people end up taking in up to 20lbs or excess salt per year. Excess salt actually makes you retain water which will make you seem heavier on the scale and may demotivate you. There is no reason to add extra salt to your food and best to eliminate salty snacks as well.

White flour – Breads, pastries, pastas. The nutrients have been removed and bleached out. “Enriched white bread” means it has been fortified with artificial chemical vitamins and most of them are lost in the baking process so there is limited value in these foods.

P90X3 Transformation Day 51

P90X3 Transformation Day 51 Pilates X today. Mixed up the schedule a bit. Not able to do yoga at the end of the week so I’ll do Pilates in place of it. Switched Dynamix day to Pilates and I’ll do Dynamix in 2 days.

The classic schedule doesn’t have this workout scheduled in too often but it’s such a great workout.

I workout first thing in the morning each day so I though I’d tell you about some benefits I read about and experience myself.

1- More likely to make it a permanent part of your routine.
2- Feel good about accomplishing something first thing.
3- More creative and intelligent throughout the day.

P90X3 Transformation Day 52

P90X3 Transformation continues on Day 52. Did the Accelerator workout today. Did a few modified moves since I can’t do the planks due to my shoulder injury. It’s feeling better though so I’m almost ready to start some light exercises to strengthen it.

Reading about Being Solution Minded today. There are many problems or challenges that you will come across but it all depends how you react to them. If they can’t be changed what can you do to deal with them, learn from them and move on. I’ve been eliminating the upper body workouts from the program and filling in the workouts with cardio, Pilates and other stretching workouts. Still continuing on with P90X3 and going to make it till the end of the 90 days.

P90X3 Transformation Day 53

P90X3 Transformation Day 53 Dynamix. Awesome stretch workout. You can add this workout in anywhere in the program and it’s so good for you. Even great for before or after playing sports too.

I get caught up in the trap of envying successful people. The problem is that I can see what they are doing on the surface but there is no way to know what is going on behind closed doors. You can see what program they are following but there is no telling how active they are outside of their workout, how much they have already failed, what they have learned. So don’t get discouraged. Just keep doing your best.

P90X3 Transformation Day 54

P90X3 Transformation Day 54 CVX today. Awesome workout even without using the weights. Lots of agility and core moves as well as cardio.

I see a lot of people that are having a hard time balancing their exercise, nutrition and rest. Some work so hard to try to get results that they burn out because they aren’t getting enough rest or are focusing too much on workouts and not enough with nutrition. You have to make sure you have a good balance to be healthy.

P90X3 Transformation Day 55

P90X3 Transformation Day 55 Pilates X today. Stimulating my immune system with breathing. Pilates is a great workout that focuses on breathing technique while working your core and abs.

I was listening to Personal Power 2 by Tony Robbins and he was talking about the benefits of breathing. Breathing controls the condition of your blood stream and the flow of lymph which stimulates your immune system.

The technique he talks about is breathing in through your nose for 1 count, hold for 4 counts and exhale for 2 counts. You can work your way up to inhale 7, hold 28 and exhale 14. He suggests doing this 3 times a day. It’s good for getting you relaxed too.

P90X3 Transformation Day 56

Dynamix workout today. Love doing this workout. When you start getting older you find that you will need to do more stretching workouts in your routine.
