My P90X3 Transformation Vlog Week 5
It’s Week 5 of P90X3. This is the beginning of the second block. I’m doing the classic schedule. There are 2 great upper body workouts this week, Eccentric Upper and Incinerator. Lower body workouts were Triometrics and Lower Focus. Another week with Yoga and Dynamics were are great for breaking up the week. There is also an MMX cardio which is Mix Martial Arts style workout. So far I like this block better than the first.
P90X3 Day 29
Eccentric Upper from P90X3 today. It’s week 5, day 29. These Eccentric exercises are all upper body and are basically negatives. That’s 1 second pushing or pulling and then 3 seconds lowering the weight or going back to the starting position.
There was a study done on people that set New Year’s resolutions. 4% that set a resolution reached their goal but 44% that set a resolution and wrote it down reached their goal. There is power in writing down your goals.
I was reading in the book “No Excuses” by Brian Tracy about the homing pigeon. If you take a homing pigeon away from it’s roost, thousands of miles away and let it free it will circle 3 times to get its barrings and find its way back to it’s roost. It’s the only animal that can do this. Humans do this with goals. If we set a goal, write it down and think about reaching that goal we don’t have to know how we are going to reach it or what to do. There will be a force that brings us to this goal whether it’s internally or some external force we will be brought to this goal.
Make sure you are writing down those goals.
P90X3 Day 30
P90X3 Day 30 Triometrics workout today. Awesome Pylo workout. Some balance moves along with different squats, lunges, skaters. I was definitely breathing heavy.
I was also reading about Fears and Worries. Something I find that I get a lot. You probably know that the best thing is to just take action like tearing off a bandaid. He had some tips for defining what the worry is and make it less worry-some or easy to conquer. He talks about defining it, outlining the worst possible outcome, accepting the worst, and improving on the worst. Sometimes when when we think about the worst outcome we can find ways to get around it so it becomes easier to confront.
P90X3 Day 31
P90X3 Day 31 Yoga today. This is the most common workout in the program… as in it’s pretty much in every week of the classic schedule.
Was also listening to personal power 2 by Anthony Robbins yesterday. He was talking about how you define success. There are some people that define success as just waking up every morning and others that set such high expectations.
P90X3 Day 32
P90X3 Eccentric Lower today on Day 32 of the classic schedule. Great lower body workout without the heavy weights. I tend to hurt my back when I am doing heavy weights too much.
Thomas Edison believed, “Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”
Failures are so close to success that they don’t even know it. I’ve seen that pic on facebook many times. The little gold miner digging away and he’s one strike away from hitting gold but the turns around, while the other guy is so far away but keeps going. You are so close and don’t even know it. Just keep pushing play and you’ll get there.
P90X3 Day 33
P90X3 Incinerator workout this morning on Day 33. Wow! No need for gym machines here. Not even a bench press. Feeling it as much as I used to with really heavy weights.
Used to be lifting heavier weights and not get this great of a workout. It’s 18 different pushing and pulling upper body exercises for 30 seconds each with minimal rest time.
Just keep pushing play guys.. You got this. I believe in you.
P90X3 Day 34
MMX P90X3 Workout today on Day 34 of the classic schedule. There are 3 Tae Quan do masters in this workout. They are kicking a foot over their heads. I can’t even kick as high as my head. Felt a bit lost for some of them moves. Lots of sprawls in this one.
As Anthony Robbins says “Purpose is stronger than outcome”. Who are you becoming on your way to reaching your goals? That’s the real success.
If you really want to know why you are doing it write down what you will gain by doing it and what you will lose by not doing it. That should give you a big enough why to stick with it.
P90X3 Day 35
Dynamix Day 35 of P90X3 today. Missed this one last week. Don’t want to miss it again. Great workout for stretching those tight muscles.
A tip I can’t stress enough is scheduling your workouts. People that didn’t schedule their workouts have a 33% chance of following through with them and 91% that do schedule will complete them. It’s even higher for those that keep the same workout time each day. 98%
Scheduling your day is SO important for making sure you get done what you need to get done.
